WELCOME

Are you tired of having short hair? Do you want to add length? Or maybe you want to add thickness/volume to the sides or the back of your hair due to your hair thinning or maybe a color change is what you’re really after. No matter what your reason is, hair extensions can dramatically change the look and feel of your hair without causing any damage.

Hair extensions are a very popular accessory worn by celebrities and the everyday woman. Wearing hair extensions has become as common as putting on jewelry or wearing makeup. Hair extensions are an ultra fashionable way to take your look from school causal to Cinderella chic. Many celebrities get hair extensions for various movie roles. When you see magazine covers with famous actors having long, flowing natural looking long hair, you begin to think that maybe you could get the same look. Once thought as a rich person's service, hair extensions have become much more affordable and even practical for everyday consumers.

Hair extensions are made from synthetic fibers and real human hair. Synthetic hair is less expensive; however extensions made from human hair tend to give a better result, naturally. Hair extensions come in many different types. There are differences in the way hair extensions are prepared, in the technique used to attach it to your own hair, and in what kind of hair is used. Some systems only differ from materials that are used or just from name. With many techniques some kind of glue or bond is used for attachment, these methods involve coating your own hair with a chemical or foreign substance. Some glues can be harmful for your hair or skin, others are safe. But the main reason for getting hair extensions is to add length to your hair style, although they can be used to thicken your hair or even add highlights.

Hair extensions will not last forever, sometimes because the attachment breaks but mostly because the growth of your own hair. Extensions connected to your hair will get more lose as your hair grows (approximately 0.4" per month). Depending on how fast your hair grows and how well you take care of your extensions they have to be removed or re-tightened when they get too loose.

There are advantages and disadvantages to every method of hair extension available today. There can be a big cost difference between one method and another. There is a direct relationship between time and cost. Most hair extensions are time-intensive, resulting in the major portion of the costs involved. Another major factor is the quality of the human or synthetic hair that is used. Quality hair is expensive. The hair industry is not regulated so determining what or who supplied quality hair can be difficult. Research and education is a primary factor in a successful hair extension service.

Make Colored Hair Extensions for Make Colored Hair Extensions for Cheap

Before we go any further, lets clear a few things up: the hair extensions that we’ll be discussing in this article are not the type that you see on Britney Spears or Paris Hilton; they’re not permanent. The extensions discussed in this article are meant to be used occasionally and are not actually attached to your hair or scalp. With that being said, these are a really fun accessory to add to your wardrobe. They can spice up an otherwise boring outfit or ad a little extra something to a nice hairstyle.

  1. Find the hair. The best time to make these hair extensions is around Halloween, when a lot of fake hair and wigs are available. Find a wig or some fake hair that is the same length or a little longer than your own and move on to step 2.
  2. Cut the hair. After deciding how many different hair extensions you want, cut the fake hair or wig accordingly. We recommend that you cut the hair between 1/2 inch or an inch in width.
  3. Pin it. After you’ve cut as many segments of fake hair as you want, find some thin hair clips or bobby pins. These are what you will attach the fake hair to.
  4. Glue it. This is the most important step of the process. You need to glue the fake hair to the bobby pins or hair clips you’ve selected without being messy about it. We recommend using superglue or hot glue, but make sure that you use the least amount of glue possible; you don’t want any glue to peek through the hair! Also, glue the hair all along the bobby pin or hair clip instead of gluing the hair all in one place; this will keep the hair from looking too clumpy when you put it in your hair.
  5. Let it dry. Let your newly made hair extensions dry for a minimum of 24 hours before you use them.
  6. How to use them. When you use your newly made hair extensions, be sure to put them underneath your hair. Do NOT put them near your scalp! If you do, they will show through and it will not look nice. Attach them under a good deal of your hair for the best and most natural look possible.
